Visiting ‘22 charities in 22 countries in 22 weeks’ the ‘Real Way Down’ is an expedition through human suffering and kindness. The project will support each of our partner charities (list of partner charities) through the production of promotional videos, as well as through financial donations, and in this way offers both immediate and long term support. The series of films will be broadcast on the ‘Community Channel’, as well as via our multiple media partners, and with other such initiatives, hopes to use innovation and creativity as a powerful tool within development.

Whales and Dolphins, whales and dolphins!! yeaah!!!

It's been a while since my last blog entry, and so I thought I'd just write up a quick little progress report. Again things are moving along slowly but surely. It's an ever frustrating task, being so proactive, and yet just having to wait for certain things to happen, but I remain positive that the project is well on track.

We have a confirmed project in Slovenia!! A charity called Morigenos- marine mammal research and conservation society, which is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization, dedicated to the research and protection of cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) and conservation of the marine environment. Yes, there are whales and dolphins in Slovenia!! This is a great project to have on board, as not only is it something a little different, but also they are so enthusiastic, and have planned various boat trips and lectures for us during our stay.

We are still waiting on Patchwork World's charity status However, all of the necessary documents are now with the 'Charity Commission', and so now it's just a question of waiting. I'm really hoping the process poses no serious issues, as we really can't afford any serious delays. We stay optimistic on this point, however, and look forward with anticipation to hearing good news.

The first fundraising event, "The Real Way 'to get' Down", is just around the corner, and will be taking place on Friday this week. Running on a Sixties theme, the night, held a Warwick Sports Club, will involve live music, raffles, food, merchandise and of course drink. It will hopefully raise a reasonable amount of money to put towards the project, and we will also be showcasing Patchwork World's first merchandise, with T-shirts, posters, and postcards for sale.

Designed by myself and the Mustard UP team, in association with 'Egg Cup Soldier', here are said designs... available for; Tshirts- £15, Posters (A2)- £10, Post cards- 50p.

Peace!
