Visiting ‘22 charities in 22 countries in 22 weeks’ the ‘Real Way Down’ is an expedition through human suffering and kindness. The project will support each of our partner charities (list of partner charities) through the production of promotional videos, as well as through financial donations, and in this way offers both immediate and long term support. The series of films will be broadcast on the ‘Community Channel’, as well as via our multiple media partners, and with other such initiatives, hopes to use innovation and creativity as a powerful tool within development.

Still in Turkey

So, just to update you all on our current position, we are still in South Turkey. We headed down to the Syrian border at Akcakale yesterday, and both me and Cindy were allowed through with visas. Phil, however, who doesn't have a visa yet was told he had to visit the Syrian consulate in Gaziantep. We are now in Gaziantep, and have to wait to visit the consulate tomorrow. We are still hopeful of Phil getting his visa there, and if so we will had down to Syria on Saturday, to drive through from Sunday-Weds when there are rarely any protests.

Although some people have expressed concerns, we assure you all that we have done extensive research on the situation there, and that we are not putting ourselves in any unnecessary danger in continuing on through Syria. We will not be stopping for longer than needs be, and will rather be driving straight through. We will be passing through central and East Syria, where there have been no issues, and our only concern is being held up at the Jordanian border.

We will keep you all updated.
