Visiting ‘22 charities in 22 countries in 22 weeks’ the ‘Real Way Down’ is an expedition through human suffering and kindness. The project will support each of our partner charities (list of partner charities) through the production of promotional videos, as well as through financial donations, and in this way offers both immediate and long term support. The series of films will be broadcast on the ‘Community Channel’, as well as via our multiple media partners, and with other such initiatives, hopes to use innovation and creativity as a powerful tool within development.

The hard, long, tumultuous way down!!

Today is my first blog entry where, if I was a 15 year old girl, I would be attaching a sad or at best confused emoticon. I had believed that this wouldn't happen, that the 'Real Way Down' would somehow happen without a hitch, or at least that any hitch would somehow be cloaked in romance. That I would somehow manage to sit within hindsight consistently in the present, and never lull. Tonight, however, is a lull!!

Companies House appear to want to make my life a misery. Somehow changing my newly formed company's objectives from nothing to something, is in breach of the companies act of 2006. Stating our purpose, rather than not, is somehow not allowed. I can, however, dissolve the company over a period of months and then restart it with said objectives... or start a new company with said objectives, and a different name!! Both options, rather irritatingly fall into that category best described as 'LONG'!

I will call them tomorrow and try to reason with their human brains. I am concerned, however, this may well be a case of 'computer says no'. In which case, my behavior is likely to become erratic and the mouth piece of my phone may well become a WMD!! (deep breath) We shall have to wait and see.

in addition to this, the entire process of sponsorship, and in particular 'Patch' sponsorship is concerning me. I'm pretty sure we will get there eventually, but for my stress levels sake, I'm hoping it is sooner rather than later. The problem is that people are interested, but it is my worry that we will struggle to get commitment until a) press coverage is plentiful, and b) Our project date is closer. I don't really want to have a stressful final 2 months, unsure of whether the trip will go ahead or not, but maybe that's just the way it has to be.

Tomorrow is a RWD focus day for me anyway, and so hopefully we can resolve some of these issues, and my emoticon will be back as a smiley face!!

Thanks, and

'PEACE by PIECE'

  1. Hello, I just found your site (as part of research for a trip around the world in 2 years time) and first of all want to wish you best of luck. Just reading about it is sooo exciting.

I am sure that all things will come in place as time progresses.
